IMMEDIATELY LOADED SINGLE MEDIAN IMPLANT RETAINED MANDIBULAR OVER-DENTURES: EVALUATION OF CLINICAL OUTCOME

ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Several Patients Notice The Value Of Completely Edentulous Mandibular Ridge Therapy Through Complete Overdenture Implants To Be On The Far Side Their Money Scope, Mandibular Overdentures Reatined By One Implant Are Reported To Be More Leisurely And Function Better Than Conventional Complete Dentures. The Goal Of The Current Study Were To Analyze The Clinical Outcomes In Comparison Between Two Types Of Attachments, The Locator Attachment Versus The Equator Attachment Used With Immediately Loaded Single Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture Opposing Conventional Complete Denture. METHODS: Ten Completely Edentulous Patients Were Managed With A Single Implant Inserted Into The Midline Of The Mandible, Followed By Rehabilitation With Complete Dentures And Divided Into Two Equal Groups: Group I Patients Receive Locator Attachment, While Group II Receive Equator Attachment. Immediately After Implant Placement The Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) Reading Of A Minimum Of 60 Was Measured Before Considering Connection Of The Attachment. Then The Denture Was Relieved In The Midline Providing Adequate Space For Female Housing Of The Attachment And Then The Denture Was Picked Up Directly In The Mouth. The Clinical Outcome Evaluated Two Weeks, Three Months And Six Months After Implant Insertion. RESULTS: The Peri-implant Soft Tissues Assessment Results Showed No Statistically Significant Difference Within Each Group And Between Two Groups At Different Evaluation Period, But The Result Of The Probe Depth In The Present Study Showed Statistically Significant Increase Within The Pair Groups, But There Is No Significant Variation Between The Pair Groups. CONCLUSION: Immediately Loaded Single Midline Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture Treatment With Locator Attachment Could Be An Alternative And Cost Effective Treatment Option And Relatively Simply Treatment.

Horizontal Ridge Deficiency In The Anterior Maxilla Represents One Of The Challenging Situation In Bone Regeneration. Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) Has Become A Major Treatment Option For Such Deficiency To Provide Optimal Bone Quantity For Installation Of Endosseous Dental Implants. However, There Is A Good Prognosis For This Treatment, As The Residual Ridge Height Can Be Used To Stabilize A Bone Graft, Making It Less Subjectable To Move Which Is One Of The Factors That May Lead To Graft Failure. ABSTRACT


Aim: The Present Study Was Performed To Evaluate The Post-operative Pain Reduction After Application Of Three Intracanal Medicament Within Necrotic Root Canals. Material And Method: Thirty Three Medically Free Patients With Necrotic Single Rooted Teeth Were Randomly Assigned Into Three Groups According To Intracanal Medicament Used; Conventional Calcium Hydroxide Paste, Calcium Hydroxide Nanoparticle And Combined Calcium Hydroxide With Silver Nanoparticle. After Opening Access Cavity And Completing Mechanical Preparation, Proper Irrigation And Dryness Of The Canals, Application Of Intracanal Medication Was Done. Patients Were Instructed To Record Their Postoperative Pain Level In Pain Chart (Numerical Rating Scale (NRS)) After 6, 24 And 48 Hours.

Results: There Was No Statistically Significant Difference Between The Three Groups At 6 And 24 Hours But There Was A Statistically Significant Difference Between Them After 48hours. Conclusion: The Combination Of Calcium Hydroxide With Silver Nanoparticle As Intracanal Medication Could Be Used As An Alternative For Reduction Of Postoperative Pain.

Purpose To Evaluation The Effect Of Deep Marginal Elevation Technique On Fracture Force Of CAD-CAM-fabricated Overlay Restorations Using Hybrid Ceramic Material (VITA Enamic). Materials And Methods Twenty Overlay Restorations Were Constructed In This Study. The Samples Were Divided Into Two Main Groups According To The Ceramic Material (n=10). The Type Of Ceramics That Was Used Is (vita Enamic). The First Group: VITA ENAMMIC Hybrid Ceramic Overlays Without Deep Marginal Elevation (DME). The Second Group: VITA ENAMMIC Hybrid Ceramic Overlays With Deep Marginal Elevation (DME). The Two Main Groups Was Cemented By RelyX Ultimate Clicker Resin Cement.

Results: There Was A Significant Difference Between The Vita Enamic Material With DME And Without DME Technique. The First Group Was Higher Than The Second Group. Conclusion: Although The Deep Marginal Elevation Technique Has A Lower Fracture Strength But It Is Considered A Promising Treatment.

This Study Aimed To : Compare The Retention Of PEEK And BRE.FLEX (second Edition) Materials In Maxillary Class III Modification 1 Removable Partial Dentures Using Digital Gauge Force Device.

Materials and Methods: Thirty Four Patients Having Kennedy Class III Modification 1 Maxillary Partially Edentulous Ridges With Fully Dentate Mandibular Arch Were Divided Into Two Equal Groups To Fabricate The Thermoplastic Materials. The First Group Received PEEK Material. The Second Group Received Bre.Flex Material. The Retention Was Measured Using Digital Force Gauge Which Is An Advanced Type Of Force Meter Device : At The Time Of Denture Insertion, After Two Weeks And After Four Weeks Of Denture Insertion. The Collected Data Were Tabulated And Statistically Analyzed.

Results: Showed That The Difference Between The Two Groups Was Statistically Significant Was Reported Between Two Groups Regarding Retention. Conclusion : The Mean Retentive Force Required To Remove The Bre-flex Removable Partial Denture Was Found To Be Statistically Significant Lower Than This Required To Remove PEEK Removable Partial Denture .

Background: Oral Health Is Fundamental To General Health And Well-being. A Healthy Mouth Enables An Individual To Speak, Eat And Socialize Without Experiencing Active Disease, Discomfort Or Embarrassment.Dental Caries Is The Most Common Dental Disease. Although, It Is A Preventable And Reversible Process But When Left Untreated It Results In Pain, Speech Disorders And Premature Tooth Loss With Its Sequelae Of Compromised Chewing And Harm To The Permanent Dentition, Defective Growth And Development In Addition To High Treatment Costs.

Aim: This Study Was Conducted To Evaluate Knowledge, Attitude And Practices In A Group Of Egyptian Dentists Towards Preventive Measures In Pediatric Dentistry. Participants And Methods: This Cross-sectional Study Was Conducted In Cairo, Egypt At Pediatric Dentistry Department, Faculty Of Dentistry-Cairo University And The Outpatient Dental Clinics At Police Academy Hospital.Data Were Collected Through A KAP Questionnaire Based Survey. A Convenient Consecutive Sampling Was Applied To Include All Postgraduate Dentists At Pediatric Dentistry Department, Faculty Of Dentistry-Cairo University And All Dentists Working At The Out-patient Dental Clinics At Police Academy Hospitals. Questionnaire Was In English Language And Consisted Of 37 Questions; 36 Binary Questions (Yes/ No) And One Open Ended Question ,related To KAP Of Egyptian Dentists On Different Preventive Measures In Pediatric Dentistry And Their Relationship To Practitioner Gender, Nature Of Primary Practice, Total Year In Practice And Scientific Degree.A Total Number Of One-hundred And Thirteen (113) Questionnaires Were Distributed On All Dentists Available At The Time Of Recruitment. The Participants Who Were Unwilling To Participate Or Absent On The Days Of The Questionnaire Were Not Included In The Study.

Results: The Levels Of Knowledge, Attitude And Practice Were Higher Among Participating Dentists From Pediatric Dentistry Department, Faculty Of Dentistry, Cairo University. There Was No Statistically Significance Between Both Groups Except For The Level Of Practice.

Conclusions: The Results Of This Study Concluded That There Is A Strong Need For Education Of Egyptian Dentists About Preventive Measures In Pediatric Dentistry To Ensure Providing The Ultimate Dental Care For Pediatric Patients In Egypt.

EVALUATION OF SIMVASTATIN EFFECT ON OSSEOINTEGRATION OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

ABSTRACT
Objective: To Evaluate The Effect Of Using Simvastatin On Bone Osseointegration Surrounding Dental Implants. Methodology: Twelve Implants That Were Inserted And Divied Into 2 Equal Groups, Each Group Contained Six Implants (simvastatin Group And Control Group). All Implants Were Done Using Delayed Submerged Implant Insertion Technique. Group One Received Simvastatin Powder As An Adjunctive; To Improve The Osseoientgration Of The Bone Surrounding The Dental Implants, While Group Two With No Adjunctive. All Patients Were Followed Up Clinically And Radiographically For Osseointegration Using Cone Beam CT Two Months, And Six Month Postoperatively.

Results: Simvastatin Group Showed Statistically Low Significant Increase In The Percentage Of Increase In The Mean Bone Density, When Compared To The Control Group. Moreover, It Showed Statistically Low Significant Decrease In The Bone Height Loss Than The Control Group. Conclusion: Simvastatin Powder Is A Safe, Efficient And Easy Way For Mild Acceleration Of Bone Healing And Osseointegration Surrounding Titanium Dental Implants. The Simvastatin Drug Has The Main Function As Antihypercholaesterlemia Drug In Addition To Its Ostegeonic Effect On Bone.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The Aim Of The Present Study Was To Evaluate The Possible Effect Of Vitamin E Administration As An Adjunct To Scaling And Root Planing On GCF Levels Of Malondialdehyde And Clinical Parameters In Patients With Chronic Periodontitis. The Adjunctive Effect Of Vitamin E Was Compared To Scaling And Root Planing Alone. Methods: Thirty-two Patients With Chronic Periodontitis Participated In This Study. They Received Scaling And Sub Gingival Debridement With Either Administration Of Vitamin E (Group I) Or Placebo (Group II). The Primary Outcome Was To Measure The Level Of Malondialdehyde (MDA) In Gingival Crevicular Fluid (GCF) Using The Quantitative Sandwich ELISA Technique. In Addition, Clinical Parameters Such As PLI,GI, PPD And CAL Were Recorded At Baseline And 3 Months After Treatment. Results The Mean Difference Between Baseline And 3 Months Scores Presented Significant Difference Between The 2 Groups With Respect To CAL And PD. The Test Group Presented More Gain In CAL (0.78mm Versus 0.46mm) And More Reduction In PD (0.81mm Versus 0.41mm). The Test Group Presented Higher Reduction In GCF Level Of MDA 3 Months Posttreatment. However, The Difference Between Groups Did Not Reach Statistical Significance. Conclusion: Scaling And Root Planing Significantly Reduced GCF Levels Of MDA 1 And 3 Months After Treatment Compared To Baseline Values. The Adjunctive Administration Of Vitamin E Produced Higher Reduction In GCF Levels Of MDA 3 Months After Treatment In Comparison To Control Group. The Adjunctive Administration Of Vitamin E Produced More Significant Reduction In Full Mouth Scores For PD And More Significant Gain In Full Mouth Scores For CAL 3 Months After Treatment.

Results: This Study Was Conducted To Evaluate The Stability And Measure The Marginal Bone Loss In Early Loading Of Single Dental Implants In The Mandibular Posterior Area. A Total Of 20 Patients With Age Range 21-51 Years, 8 Males And 12 Females Participated In The Study. Conclusion: 1-The Implant Stability Increases After Early Loading Which Increases The Rate Of Success. 2-The Rate Of Marginal Bone Loss After Early Loading Is Adequate For The Success Of The Dental Implant.

ABSTRACT


Purpose: Assessment The Accuracy Of CBCT In Detection Of Horizontal Root Fracture By Alternation Of Exposure Parameters In Endodontic Treated Teeth

Materials and Methods: 18 Single-rooted Human Teeth Will Be Selected Then Inspected By Trans-illumination For The Absence Of Root Fracture, And By Conventional Periapical Radiographs To Observe Root Canal Anatomy. Teeth With Caries Extending To The Root, Restorations, Pulp Calci?cations, Root Resorption Or Root Fracture Will Be Excluded. Finally Each Tooth Coded And Divided Into Two Groups:, Nine Teeth With Obturation With Guttapecha Only And Nine Teeth With Obturation With Gutta-percha And With Root Fracture. Then The Roots Of Teeth Will Be Fractured By Hummer With Standardized Force Perpendicular To The Long Axis Of The Tooth. Each 3 Teeth Will Be Mounted Separately In A Blocks That Will Be Made From Silicon Impression Putty. Then The Blocks Will Be Placed In A Fine Plastic Cylinder Containing Water To Simulate Soft Tissue. The Cylinder Will Be Placed On The Chin Rest Of CBCT Unit. The Teeth Will Be Imaged By Centering The Block In A Smallest Field-of-view FOV (H ? D) 50 ? 50 Mm. By Changing In Exposure Parameters (5 MA) With Standardized Resolution, (5 MA) With High Resolution, (10 MA) With Standardized Resolution And (10 MA) With High Resolution We Produce 72 Evaluations Detected By Three Radiologists.

Results: There Is No Significant Difference By Different Parameters Of CBCT To Detect HRF In Endodontic Treated Teeth With Gutta-percha. Standardized Resolution With (5 MA) Is The Most Specific Parameter To Detect HRFs In Endodontic Treated Teeth With Gutta-percha.

Conclusions: Diagnostic Accuracy Of CBCT In Detection Of HRFs Does Not Affected By Alternating Resolution And Milliampere.
